sillent
It took the playoffs and a 48pt game in Milwaukee but believe me they know Trae is a superstar now.
Spud2nique
Whoever isn’t admitting it is scared and denying it. Just my take.
bleachkit
Actually Trae was getting mad props throughout the playoffs from lots of the national people. No need to continue playing the victim card.
Popular Post RedDawg#8
With greatness come great criticism. I think that's the next aspect of Trae's stardom that we will need to adjust to. It's not all roses. It's the expectation that you can and should perform at all times and if you don't, the outside world will hold you accountable. Trae woke up a lot of people with his performance in the playoffs. But he has now opened himself up to even more criticism as well. Do not expect any of the hate to ever go away. You don't bow and shimmy in another man's gym and expect their fans to sing your praises. He made just as many new fans as he did new enemies lol But that's the price of fame. 8

Once that memory fades I expect a lot will be back to their old ways.
Premium Member Diesel Posted July 8, 2021 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 8, 2021 I think the major problem that Trae has is the Steph comparison. He does a lot of the tomfoolery things that Steph do.. the halfcourt bombs, the shimy, etc. BUT He's not close to being the shooter that Steph is. Understand, Steph changed the whole game. Trae is the first "disciple" of Steph. Little kids everywhere are modelling what they seen Steph do. BUT Trae is NO Harold Miner and this is Trae's problem. Trae falls into the category of Harold Miner but Trae actually does much more than Steph. Neither are good defenders. Trae is not as good a shooter as Steph. BUT. Trae runs an offense much better (Draymond Runs GS's offense). Trae is a better clutch player than Steph (for all of Steph's abilities, there have been times when he has shrunk in the moment). So for Trae to get to that level of Superstardom that he deserves, he has to pry his way out of Steph's shadow. That means that he has to start being recognized for what he does better than Steph so that people will stop believing him to be a Steph mimic. As long as he is seen as a Steph Clone, he will never fully be recognized as a superstar. Trae has the ability to change this... first, he has to improve his shooting, 3 pt shooting particularly. The assists will be there. Trae can soon be known as the master of the floater... which will be respected because he will have so many ways to beat people.

Trae has had 3 years of relentless criticism followed by a final acknowledgement and celebration of his real talent during the post-season. If the media goes back to criticizing him, it will just be a return to business as usual.

You ain't wrong, but I'll wait for the national TV schedule to let me know how 'bought in' they really are.
