I just asked this question in another thread. So we have about $5.9 or whatever of the mid-level exception to add one more player if needed? So that means we can see go after Milsap as long its under 5.7 mil. With one roster spot left. Cool

Cool I believe if we sign Milsap, we will not have any roster spots left.

Correction...maybe it's $5.5 million. The remaining balance of the MLE if we assume $4 million of it went to Dieng. Since @thecampster said using the BAE hard caps us?
ATLHawks3
Bringing Sap back would be cool, but I'd be much more inclined to go after another wing to play behind our core 4 in Bogi, Huerter, Hunter, and Reddish. Someone like Wesley Matthews would be a nice edition I believe. He doesn't have to play much, and would only play if there a lot of injuries to the team. But I think we'd be creating a bit of log jam to where we would have 4 guys at 1 position (although some of them can play multiple positions), and I don't think it would be fair for all of them. Spotrac has it listed as a $172.5M deal. I understand the first year, $29.75M is exactly 25% of the 2022-2023 cap, $119M. But my understanding is on rookie max extenstions Trae would be getting 8% increases every year after that which would look like this: Year 1: $29.8M Year 2: $32.1M Year 3: $34.7M (this is where we start deviating) Year 4: $37.5M Year 5: $40.5M But Spotrac has this estimated (below): where am I off? I have the total at $174.5M but they show $172.5M I figured this one out... @JayBirdHawk The annual increases are always the same amount which is 8% of the first years salary. So the increase doesn't compound like I originally assumed... 8% of the 29,750,000 is $2,380,000 so Trae's salary goes up $2,380,000 every year.

These teams pay a penalty for each dollar their team salary exceeds the tax level. From 2002 to 2013, if a team exceeded the luxury tax threshold, they must pay one dollar to the league for every dollar that they are over the limit. Moderators AHF Posted August 6, 2021 Author Moderators Report Share Posted August 6, 2021 @thecampster - Players on two-way contracts are not counted in the team's salary totals for cap purposes. You can take Mays and Cooper off the list. From Coon's FAQ: Quote The following are not included in team salaries: The salaries for the team's two-way players (see question number 82). Quote A Two-Way player is not included in his team’s Team Salary (see question number 13), so teams don’t need cap room or an exception to sign, acquire or convert (see question number 83) a Two-Way contract.
