In the middle of his season. Here's the story Quote Johnson has battled bouts of inconsistency and a foot injury that cost him the better part of four games. He leaves having averaged 11.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. According to one source, Johnson had cleaned out his locker by Monday afternoon and conveyed to the team that he would not be returning. “My family, Coach (Mike Krzyzewski) and I have made the decision that I should not play the remainder of this season so I can be 100 percent healthy in preparation for the NBA Draft,” Johnson said in a statement. “This was not easy but we feel it’s best for my future.” 4

benhillboy
Strong core for screening, attacks the glass, and runs the floor? I’m sold. I’m sure Trae is too. He’ll develop sooner than later going up against the likes of Clint, John, Dre, and OO in practice. Edited July 30, 2021 by benhillboy

I honestly thought he quit on his team. But there's no denying his lottery talent, and I hope for good fresh start with us. We’ve got a thing for elite prospects who disappoint Duke fans...lol Edited July 30, 2021 by terrell 1
Popular Post bleachkit
Ben Simmons type player. We don't really have a guy like that, so that improves our versatility. Edited July 30, 2021 by bleachkit

RandomFan
For those not in the chat, @thecampster posted some interesting info not long ago: "A bit of intel. The proposed deal of Indy/Atl for 13 was to move up to take Johnson. Indy discussed Cam, Atlanta did not. The rumor was a bit misleading." So it appears Jalen is who Schlenk was targeting all along. Would lead one to believe he's not trade bait but a coveted player.

Buzzard
Hawks got a steal at 20. Possibly the best combo forward in the draft. Johnson is like the perfect answer to back up Hunter and Collins. 3

I'm not sure he gets past 36 but I've been pining for him all week. IMHO the steal of the draft.
