Top 50 players Ever....

A few years ago,   The NBA put out a list of top 50 players ever.   It was a celebrated list... but again that was  1996.   So it's 25 years later. 

Here's my question.

In remaking the top 50 players list....  What Hawks would deserve to be nominated for that team?

When they release the top 75 players list they should do 2 versions.

One where they only add 25 names to the prior top-50, and another where they re-do the whole list of 75 which could leave off a few names from before.

If you don't like Joe and his 7 allstar visits, and his 47th in NBA FG% and 44 in NBA Points.  I understand.

But Deke!!!

He's 2nd in NBA in Blocks.  43rd in Rebounds.    And 26th in Career defensive rating.

Yeah you're probably right on Deke.   He had a great career even outside Atlanta.   

I love Mutombo but still don't understand (other than recency bias) why Hawks have retired his jersey but not Roundfield's.  But that's another deal.

Deke was a great player but doesn't make the top 50 cut for me.  A lot of great players don't make that cut.
