I don't want Ben Simmons.  Why?  I want the Hawks to "win it all."  76ers couldn't win with him.  What makes any of us believe things would be different with us?

Payroll hit.  Regardless of who we would have to give up right now, think of how many of our players we would not have next season because we could not afford to keep them.  Falcons continue to be in payroll hell and will remain there yet next season.  Hawks do not want this and Simmons and his payroll hit brings it.

Why mess up the good things we have going right now?  Sacrifice some of our good players?  This would be necessary right now and again next season.  

We have built this team to this point.  We have been playing pretty well.  We tried to champion Cam Reddish.  I was one of his biggest fans.  I'm so sorry we had to let him go.  Do we need Ben Simmons to take his spot?  Imagine, he comes here.  Then, next summer he demands a trade.  Bull feathers.  That didn't go over well, did it.  

Oh, I can see how great he would be here.  Almost as good as Delon Wright!

Truth.  And this team wasn't built haphazardly.  Tweaking is always necessary but we drafted the guys we did, when we did for a reason.   Simmons costs too much and makes too much.

I haven’t really been on board with the trade at the asking price, and the winning streak has made me lean towards definitely not. It’s not just the winning streak, but that and how we finished out last season with these players. Acquiring a guy like Simmons seems more like an off-season move if you get swept in the first round (or miss the playoffs completely) and feel like a change is necessary. It just doesn’t make sense to do it now.

I'm rehashing this b/c I'm really persuaded at this point that obtaining Moose as you've proposed instead of Favors (as I'd proposed) probably makes more sense, at least for us... as long as the deal would be Moose for Knox, and then Kenrich Williams for TLC. I want to keep Dieng, and want to let Moose give Gallo the occasional night off. Williams becomes the 2nd SF behind Hunter, and the SG slots are filled with Huerter and BogBog, not necessarily in that order.... which, in turn, allows LouWill to stay fresher overall. And the attraction for OKC is that they get to flip their PHX FRP for the lesser of our pick or the CHO pick. Peripheral attraction is that it's been noted that a reunion with UK teammate might be really sweet for Knox.

Morey has overplayed his hand and the market for Simmons is now tanking. Sacramento is not "out" as the media has reported. They are out at the current ask level. The price has to now come down significantly in order for them to re-enter.

If Philly get pinched for working behind the scenes with Harden and the penalty is that they would not be allowed to sign Harden (similar to Bogi/Milwaukee) and the pinch is before this deadline, do you think they may just trade him for the best package they can get at the deadline?

If nothing else can we get a guy that knows how to defend the three. Our "wing stop" which is now a half serving, was way overrated.

Oh that's a certainty. If they think they're getting pinched they'll either trade for him now and try to smooth it out or they'll move Simmons in a way to reduce their penalty.

If they either trade for Harden or completely move on from it, they won't be penalized nearly as severely.

This being the case.  A team that really wanted Simmons could easily threaten to be whistleblower to make the deal happen.

So he's slowly coming around to strangers. We've set up a dog treat bowl at the door to our house and our occasional visitors are instructed to treat the dogs when they come in. He's coming around to the idea that strangers are just friends you haven't met yet. But progress has slowed to a crawl for a number of reasons....mostly we've gotten down to his core personality and we there are some things that just aren't going to be undone. We even considered if he has canine autism (that's a real thing) where they are noise/movement sensitive. But he's generally happy so we're fine with where he is now. Never had dreams he was going to win a show be normal. Just wanted him rehabbed/happy.

Toronto took advantage of our bigs on there first few makes.  They played a lot of five out.  Just watch all there made threes here, most were contested, albeit some more lightly than others.
