But it is doing it over and over again... that's exactly what it is... "over a larger sample of games"... that's kinda the point. And that when KCP has had big games, it's not been unusual over his career that his team wins those games.

That is ridiculous.  Ignoring how frequently someone does something misses the point entirely.

Fan 1:  "Hey, we landed this guy who nails 3pt shots over and over again!"

Fan 2:  "Fantastic - we need some outside firepower.  What is his 3pt%?"

Fan 1:  "11.7% and he hits 8 of them per season so over his 14 year career that is the definition of being an impact 3pt shooter because he has been doing it over and over again!"

Fan 2:  "-----"

By that standard, non-offensive players like Stacey Augmon were legit third options because it doesn't matter how infrequently it happened over his career "he did it over and over again" so we must want someone like that to be our third option right?  (Augmon had 76 20+ point games, almost the same number as KCP and since frequency doesn't matter they must be equally good scorers).

How about Evan Turner and his 66 career 20+ point games?  He did it "over and over" again so he must be a good scorer too!

Maybe I've been too harsh on Marcus Smart and his elite offense since I've been looking at this all the wrong way.

All this Boo hooing because Harden went to the 76ers and Bkln got Simmons.

From my viewpoint... 2 EC teams just got weaker.

We're not talking 2016 James Harden.  We're talking about stat padding, fat, hammy having James Harden.   The Hamstring was Harden's first NBA injury.   There's a mental aspect to this that I don't think many people have noticed.   Harden is not the same.   Plus he will be effected by the Trae Young Rules more than Trae will.  People say Pick and Roll with Embiid and Harden.  By the playoffs, it may be PNR with Maxey and Bassey.

In Brooklyn...  Really.  How do you expect Brooklyn to be competitive when Kyrie is playing away and not at home?  I'll admit that they are stronger with shooters and defense but I don't know what Simmons + KD will look like.   KD's game usually mixes well with Alpha players who can shoot.  Think about it.  Defensively they will be much better but when they play Milwaukee in the playoffs, they may be swept.

I like our team.   We just got to trust it.

😀   On a side note,  the board is aware I wanted Kyrie.  With the right offer, Kyrie was there for the taking for the Hawks because of that situation with him not playing home games.  It wouldn't have effected him in Atlanta.  My 3 team trade had Kyrie and Claxton to Atlanta with the Nets receiving Dejuante Murray from the Spurs and Wright and Reddish from the Hawks.  The Spurs receiving Hunter, Huerter and Okongwu ( glad that didn't happen).  Harden might have wanted to stay depending on how a trade like that worked out.

I don't think Kyrie would ever be moved for a package like Murray, Wright and Reddish.

I think there is a good argument to like the deals for both Philly and Brooklyn.  Brooklyn seems a like an absolute no-brainer for the long-term and short-term.  For Philly, it is all about the short-term.  They need to make the finals in the next couple seasons.
