I am so glad I decided to turn this at the Georgia/Michigan half to see what was going on. Got to see a great third and fourth quarter. Trae and Capela carried us.

Did Lou play the entire 4th qtr over Mays?

If so, why? Mays is twice the defender. And he was 7-11...

Hawks finally played better defense!  Trae with 1 turnover.  Keys to winning

Mays:  19 pts on 7 - 11 FG . . 4 - 5 3FG

Iwundu:  12 points on 5 - 10 FG . . . 2 - 4 3FG

Oliver:  10 pts on 4 - 9 FG . . . 1 - 2 3FG

Brown:  9 pts on 3 - 6 FG . . . all three point attempts

Lance:  2 pts on 1 - 1 FG

 

Total:   

52 pts  . . . . 20 - 37 FG . . . 10 - 17 3FG

 

Just outstanding complimentary play by those guys tonight.   They kept us within reach while Trae and Capela was struggling.  So when those 2 came alive in the 3rd quarter, they were still able to make complimentary shots, while also playing defense.  

As a group, they get an A+ tonight.

No chance of that happening tonight.  Michigan doesn't have that type of offense.  They had to keep this game close to have a shot.

Trae is OUR SUPERSTAR....flaws and all. He will continue to grow his game and I'm looking forward to the Hawks righting the ship in 2022.

Lou's a better ball handler and playmaker.  I questioned it too, but Trae was clearly tired and him and Lou played well off each other. 

Going forward I would like to see more Skylar and a little less Lou.

Skylar had the shooting, but didn't have an assist tonight. Lou had 5 assists and wasn't shooting the ball well.  I guess Nate felt Lou was the better secondary playmaker.
