Nice W for the good guys. This was another test to see how well a healthy Hawks team matches up with our rivals in the East.

all that switching that was taking place has really calmed down . Guys are fighting through screens and not allowing screens to be set easily at all.

i wouldn’t say posters didn’t think it was possible I’d say we knew a change was needed in the scheme and the players needed to show they cared.

Trae isn't even playing that well right now and we blow them out by 16 because of the defensive effort.

I can count on one hand the number of easy shots the Celtics got tonight.  Hell did they get any?  Dre and OO are such stabilizers.

A few weeks ago I spoke about Huerter's activity on defense from last season vs this season in regards to steals, blocks and deflections. We are seeing it now since the 'you know what'. Guys are actually making effort to get a hand up on 3s...we aren't seeing the barage of WIDE open 3s.

I think what we have seen is the difference between sporadic defense and team defense.  Earlier this season, our defense was sporadic.  NOW.. it's a team defense and everybody has bought in..

I am now starting to wonder how many games Cam Reddish cost us this season. Look at our second unit without him there to clog up the game looking for iso shots and giving zero effort on defense. It is night and day watching this team without Cam on it. Truly addition by subtraction.

It helps to have the players available, we had too many guys in and out of the lineup do the communication and effort wasn't always there.

Capela blocked Dennis’ shot with his forearm lol.  Dennis lost all that bread he ain’t focused on basketball he looking for someone to stomp out.  Magic City patrons beware tonight.

It looks like McMillan and his staff has listened to JC and trying to involve him more in the offense as these games go by.

 

I love the JC post ups especially when it’s a mismatch! collins is so calm once he receives the ball and he’s pretty damn good at scoring with his back to the basket. Then when it’s a Big that matches his size hes no longer trying to back that guy down who may be stronger …instead he’s facing him up, sizing him up, and comfortably pulling up that quick mid range jumper.

on top of all that still bringing the good ass defense! 
 

 

I WANT TO SEE MORE!!!…That ladies and gentlemen is our second best player when he’s doing this. He’s sticking to his strengths and playing smart. I’m not worried about JC getting traded. I think he’s taken his name off the list even for Simmons if this play continues.
