This is at least a more accurate assessment.

This is also the reason why Trae relies on the long 3 to impact a game.  That's why it doesn't bother me when he shoots it.

Put Bogi back in the starting lineup maybe? Dont know which Kev is gonna show up... Bogi might be off at times but at least he''ll let it fly every night.. lol.. With that said Kev put up 13 shots.. I cant really remember any of them.. smh.. This loss was so disheartening.........................

My take on the game....

In general. 

Something I have noticed.  We never defend the corner three.   That killed us tonight.   I think it's our defense to just give the opposing team a wide open corner three and if they can hit it while a man runs out at them.. God Bless em.   This is a problem.   The corner three is the easiest three to hit.  

The other thing is something I noted earlier.  Overall basketball IQ.

Luka comes back with 5 fouls.   He's guarding Hunter and Hunter is plastered to the three point line. ????  Come on, we should have tried to isolated Luka, get him in a post up situation and force the refs to blow their whistle. 

These are two huge issues with us.

But back when I said Luka was more versatile and Trae is more limited because of his size, I got "attacked".. lol

We aren't getting to 6. We probably aren't getting to 7 or 8. Look at the standings, it speaks for itself.

They were up 20 at one point vs Cleveland today.. And you know how we like to play down to our competition..Wouldnt shock me if it came down to the wire.....

We can't talk about position until we fix our defense.   Every team can hit the corner three.  Nate has to make some defensive changes.  We can't just go by the odds that the team is not going to hit that shot.

All you have to do against us is move the ball and you'll find an open shooter. Works every time.

We are dying at the 2 guard tbh. We have 2 guys who can't score or play defense at an average NBA level. 11 or 12 points with D+ defense is not gonna cut it with Trae..

 

Can we please get a 2 guard that does something at an above average NBA level?

And I dont know wth is going on with Capela...

We need him to be close to great and he's far from it....

That extension looks worse by the day..

Hopefully he's still tradeable...

I am treating the Hawks the same way I did the Braves this past year:

I will take them seriously once they can get above .500. 

I'll enjoy the wins and awesome individual efforts, but we aren't going anywhere until we can get above. 500. Period.

Yep.....Looking ahead, I believe we can finish 3-2 before the break. But then maybe a 4-game losing streak immediately after. We will then be 6 games under .500 with 20 games left. If we can finish 13-7(big IF), we will be 41-41. That's probably good enough for the 10th seed. That's pretty much my expectations for this season.....

FYI

Trae is 0 for his last 10 from 3, and 9 for 29 from 3 (31%) since the play when he hurt his shoulder when Anthony Davis "didn't foul" him. smdh
