Which salary year are you using for Huerter? Try using the 2022-2023 salary year when the trade actually finalizes. Also the https://fanspo.com/nba/trade-machine is better than ESPN.

Update... this is the trade machine I was looking at.  I have found that it's good with the updates salaries but horrible with the trading success and failure.   It calls the original trade a success but the original trade is off by about 4 Million dollars.   Maybe this is what the League uses when Lebron wants to add players to his team but those kind of differences usually don't fly.

these are not offensive moves and the plan is clearly ALL defense motivated this off season  if the plan is to have OO and Gobert at PF and Center.
 

I will say that a lot of rumors as we know are BS but these last two from Jake Fisher has really picked up steam and goes with what are insiders here have been saying. That don’t make it sure thing of course but my gut feeling is different.

a front court of Hunter, OO, Gobert is very strong defensively but it will come with price of having offensive challenges nonetheless.

Capela ($19.7), Huerter ($14.5) and #16 for Gober ($38) - difference of $3.8 million. 

Edited: Trade will have to occur after July 1st when Huerter is no longer PPP.

Which is why the trade isn't being done pre-draft.  Huerter's pre-draft value is closer to 10 mil making the numbers wonkier. Needs to happen post Moratorium which is why you aren't hearing about it.

I would not move JC for a draft pick. He is the last available chess piece if we want to eventually trade for a star. That star may not be available today, but he will be at some point. Things change fast in the NBA. We cannot move all of our tradeable contracts  in one offseason without bringing in that star piece we have been searching for since Trae was drafted. 

4 years later and we tell Trae, hey, we are trading JC to draft this kid with major upside for you. Trae going to say, so what was Dre, Cam, and OO for ? The best player TS drafted other than Trae is JC. He is a perfect fit with Trae. They have chemistry and are battle testing together. Why grasp straws to “hopefully” find another player like this when he already exists?

Dyson Daniels is unlikely to be on the board at No. 16, but if the Hawks do trade up to potentially No. 7 in a deal with Portland (and discussions have occurred, according to sources), he should be Atlanta’s pick if he’s available. The Hawks need more perimeter defenders, and he’s arguably the best one in the draft. Additionally, Daniels’ ability to be a playmaker with a point guard’s handle should be intriguing to Atlanta.
