Popular Post gurpilo
hace 11 minutos, sturt dijo: I'll grant that Huerter was clearly the more marketable commodity. But BogBog was the one that needed to be sent out, if anyone, because of his age. But I don't have to like that Schlenk spent all this time developing a young core of players who would naturally develop on-court chemistry together... I'm just persuaded that the concept is sound, and I'm equally persuaded that almost no franchise has the patience to ascend to it and maintain it. Granted, the first guy to be sent out was sent out at his own request (Cam). But now, this makes two, and none of us will be surprised given all of the rumor chatter if there's not a third (JC) before long. I hate it. We were building something very special and enduring. And now, we're just another team trying to outsmart every other team with essentially the same strategic plan as every other team. I would also have sent Bogi out but you got a rotation wing and a first for Huerter, you would not get that from Bogi. Today Bogi if healthy is better player than Huerter and now with Murray he doesn’t need to play so much minutes and can have more rest. We could not keep both, that was a problem. AND (a big and for me) we got AJ Griffin and I also think he is going to play minutes as the season progresses, he is a creator, a good shooter, he is strong and has more potential to be a good defender. We need to find minutes for him. 5

I know the bonuses were moved to unlikely. They haven't been removed yet and are still possible to be awarded. Best to keep those in. Final_quest
The major shift in our roster construction is bringing in defense and toughness, but giving up shooting. Will be interesting to see how this plays out on the court. We were one of the top shooting teams % wise.

The GM literally went on the radio stating he and the owner regretted running it back last year. This is so far pretty minimal change wise based off those comments. (a) Well, we all want the same thing ultimately, I've assumed. (b) Ressler regretted it. I don't think Schlenk was anxious to blow-up his master plan... but what choice does one have when your boss publicly offers a strong opinion, right? Not much. And he of course is smart enough to concur with his boss publicly. (c) The young core as far as I think most of us understood that term to apply: JC, Trae, KVon, Dre, Cam, Big2O. 4 of the 6 remain. Honestly I’m good if we just stay like we are. We lost some shooting on the bench but now Bogi can focus in on being 6th man here. Justin Holiday has had some productive on and off years shooting the 3 ball but his defensive ability is way better than Huerter. Harkless isn’t a very good offensive player but I like the defense skill set he brings. My biggest question is who’s going to play backup PF to JC….maybe JJ gets the opportunity but I just don’t see it unless Nate has a change of heart. Trae and Murray are going to be extremely responsible for getting this team involved offensively and JC should really have more plays ran for him now that he has two playmaking guards. 1

timebomb
Just a random question if anyone could answer. All these max contracts I understand why Nikola Jokic got more on his max than Booker but why did Zion get more in his max than Booker?? Zion has never been an all star or all NBA and he got 231 and Booker who’s been to three straight all star games and was all NBA this got 224? Zion has barely played in the NBA that being said if he was on our team we’d have maxed him also but why is he even eligible for super max? Sorry this isn’t about the Hawks but Murray will want max in two years and I’d like to know what that contract might look like also.

AJ is unproven but projects as a really good shooter, JC is above average as a PF, Bogi remains, and then there is Trae. I think we need one more guy who is a guaranteed “bucket” but otherwise are in decent shape Gallo was that guy for the bench. A throw it in and forget it type player. We could use another one of those. That is where Dre needs to take a leap and fill that void.
