Because he's watching stats... not the game.

So now you know what Im watching?

If you say so Mr 5-0 or 4-1 on the roadtrip...lol

Youre watching this team and still expecting them to live up to your pre-season expectations of a good team. I'm watching these games as if I'm watching the 13-69 Hawks. I Just don't get too excited or disappointed anymore knowing I'm watching a bad/mid team.

If you're going to win without Trae you better play defense like a top 10 defensive team. They... did not.

Shout out to DJM for carrying the offense

I Hope Dre is still recovering from his asthma symptoms, because damn that was ugly.........

2 games in a row opponent hits 19 3s on nearly 50% shooting. Dre was flat out horrendous yet Nate employs no leash.

JJ and a DNP-CD? Foolish.

You can tell.. that all you do is watch stats.

5-0 or 4-1 with Trae.

But you can keep up your agenda.

I'm not enjoying the Hawks role as the NBA’s get-well team this year as much as you are thats for sure..

You're gonna have excuses for this team regardless.. If we lost and JH was out, youd probably bring that up. lol

Wil you please get it through your head that this team will NEVER be FULLY healthy for a long period of time??

Havent you seen enough already?

I call it Hawkspital for a reason..

BOMBS!  Last night, the Hawks made 13 threes.  Our opponent made 19.

13 X 3 = 39.  19 X 3 = 57.

Quiet a difference, isn't it.  Griffin made 3 of 4.  Yet we can't trust a rookie when the game is on the line, can we?  I did notice that three of our five starters were -0- from deep.  Two of the three tried, but missed,  Capela didn't shoot any from downtown.

That one play I was excited where Hunter brought the ball up and ran the pick and roll and got fouled and went to the line.

I thought we should run this more often but he barely hung onto the ball. Hunter needs to work on his ball handling. Dribble better and learn to get a solid grasp on the ball. It’s always slippin off his hands.

@TheNorthCydeRises Brandon Clarke huh? :sarcastic:

Penny Simons killed us.  Hats off to DM and he did all he could but too many threes from them killed us.

First Kawhi, now Lillard.

Suns next. We gotta get the next one.

Go Hawks!

The threes were definitely something that sunk us.. but we had a chance if only we would have hit our free throws.

Despite being in it the whole way I felt like we played to their pace and they dictated the flow of the game. Ya ft always help but we came out without a certified plan of attack. That’s on Nate again and the energy the players bring. These are young men. I don’t understand why they get so fatigued these days, I really don’t.

Exactly.  Hunter is one of the sorriest ball handlers.

OO's defense was awful too.   I don't know if it's Nate's plan or if OO slips up too high.. but he starts off high post.. above the high post actually and he ends up trailing a slasher who's going for a layup.  He's out of positing.   His back is not even parallel to the goal... what is he doing...  It becomes him escorting the slasher to the hoop and eventually deciding to foul or let him score easily.

It might be Nate because it happened to Clint once... but Clint held his defensive position back to the basket a lot better.

OO doesn't slide.  My coach would have made him slide the whole gym...for 20 minutes.  But that time has passed.   He got to do better..

The problem that we had was Lillard.  Not his three point shooting or any of that.  This guy gets to the line better than most players I have seen.   Refs were falling over  themselves to give him a call.   Several times, it look like nobody touched him.   One time, they called a foul on OO.   The replay clearly showed that OO didn't touch him.   That's how the game went..  when we would get some momentum, Dame would get the ball and would get a foul or his shot would fall.

The other problem was Grant.   That dude was out there BBQing JC.  At some point, Nate has to change up.  If we're being bbq by the big because he's stepping out and hitting the three... then we have to zone up and let our guards get out there on him.   I don't think Grant could run past JC but we gave that dude too much room to work.

It's our #1 problem, imho.  We do not value possessions, at all.  If we did, we'd recognize when the pace is getting out of control.  Yes, we should play faster.  But we shouldn't just play wrecklessly, which we did at times last night.

It’s so rare you see a team where no one has a positive +/-.  Forrest’s two turnovers (the first one was totally egregious just lobbing the pass up for grabs, I’m sure the other one wasn’t good) loomed as large as Bogi’s missed FTs.  As soon as he got out there he looked like he didn’t belong but he atoned with a few good assists and a nice drive.

Lilliard +6 with 42 points.  Payton +6 with 4 points.

Yeah, that first Forrest turnover hurt my feelings.   I was really pulling for the guy.. and he had a great drive later.   However, he had some fear.   I almost would have rathered we play AHoli most of the game.  His role has to be more defined.   He's great with an open shot... however, he will only shoot with an open shot.   If we budballed that thing with him on the court, he could be an assassin.   However,  running the offense.. I don't know yet.   I think he can he just doesn't instruct.  At least Forrest will try to move guys.

I have resigned my mind that we are just stuck with Bogi.   I hate IsoBogi.  I like that dude's confidence but I hate his Blindness to everything else going on.

True.  I like A. Hol, an obvious coach’s player.  He’s got the best on court and on/ off net behind the starting front court.  Obviously he’s limited in his vision and generalship.  I like how he’s fully aware of his ball-handling limits.  DJ’s over-confidence in his handle has me on the edge of my seat often.

What was the board consensus on Jerami Grant?  I like John, I’ve always liked Grant a bit more.  More wiggle, able to shoot threes at volume, and can capably split between the 3 and the 4.  Defense has certainly dropped off some from his Nugget days.
