I don't think so i think their just stalling for time as the pieces that Wolves would want probably aren't available til september.   I think Siakam is the 1st option for the FO and if Toronto doesn't move him after the effort we put in. Then we will go all hands on deck for KAT or Brown from that point on until september when more pieces we have come available to move.

There is no way the hawks are going to trade for Siakam without some kind of commitment that he’s signing long term.

At this point ….why would they be going after a player who doesn’t want to be here long term???

I understand the rumor that Siakam camp said he’s not wanting to resign with anyone but the raptors but he must have had a change of heart if we are still in pursuit of him.

Confirmed above, but:

 

I don't see the Toronto deal getting done.  The Raps are in a no win situation right now. They'd have to see it as addition by subtraction.

 

Similar deal with Minny.  Kat is great but fit there is a problem. They can't go back into it mixed as they are and yet, they can't just get screwed in a KAT deal from a PR perspective.

 

Lastly, teams like Hunter, they don't love Hunter.  They see his game flaws like everyone else. We can't expect Hunter to be what moves the needle for us.

Hope you braced yourself for the peo blowback.  He thinks Trae is the only thing keeping Hunter from being Tatum

Oh and the outsiders concur with you and saffron on the Siakim deal.  Mainly because TOR doesn't know what they are.  Yet they keep tryna rope other organizations in their identity crisis.  Teams are tired of it.

Rotation players on a rookie contract are platinum value. Outside of a true superstar on a long term deal their value is the highest in the entire NBA. The Hawks would be fools, outright fools, to cave in to trade one of them for a soon to be 30 year old on an expiring contract. 

If we can't get Siakam on a reasonable trade then I would stop all talks with the Raptors. I would either trade for KAT or simply move Capela in its own move to make way for OO and roll with the young guys. There's a reason almost every team in the NBA checked in on AJ, OO and JJ availability.
