They check these boards. If I say something that I've been told to keep quiet I lose that access. I wish I could tell you guys and lady all the juicy bits but I can't. There's a lot and I mean A LOT of different directions this franchise can go and all of those options are very, very much on the table. 1
Popular Post KB21
Trade Trae and get ready for a very long process of rebuilding. There isn’t a deal available for Trae that either makes us better now or gives us the capital to adequately replace him. Whatever team Trae is traded to will not be in the lottery anytime soon. The Hawks do not have control over their own picks for the next three drafts. No matter who they take at #1, it’s not a player who is of Trae’s caliber.

NBASupes
Trae is not getting traded but at the same time, he's not untouchable either. He's just not getting traded. 3
marco102
This draft can't be over with quick enough. I'm emotionally exhausted with all these "reports"...most are just smoke screens until we get to the day before the draft. 2
Gray Mule
With all the different posts and all their different ideas about what may happen this summer, why would any of us be surprised that the Atlanta front office is hearing the same thing and are having the same ideas discussed? One of the biggest things that will come out of all this is how all the other NBA teams feel about any deal that can be made with the Hawks. It takes two to tango! One-sided trade ideas are just that, one-sided. However, this leads to a counter-offer and from there to a real trade deal may come. When more than one NBA team wants what you have, then the wheels begin to turn faster. One team or the other then may come up with a new idea to sweeten the deal. Maybe a future 1st or 2nd round draft pick. Hawks could be interested.

Nonsense agenda pushing <<<<< Of those teams, only Minnesota is close to being exclusively drop coverage. Boston very clearly isn't. They blitz. They hedge. They show. Dallas hedges a lot. Denver does more hedging than drop because Jokic isn't a great rim protector and has a good feel for getting into passing lanes. As Sam Vecenie said in the podcast, ground coverage defensively is the most important aspect, particularly in the playoffs against teams running 5 out offenses.
Premium Member Popular Post JayBirdHawk Posted June 14 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted June 14 It seems a lot of this is being driven from the San Antonio side. Not only are we trading Trae but also the #1 pick. So several things to wrap your head around if you aren't as mentality exhausted as @marco102 1. In a draft with no identifiable 'star' we are trading the only one we have for picks back 2. Trading Trae to rebuild since we got the #1 pick and again in a draft that has no identifiable 'star' but yet we want to also trade said #1 pick. 3. I've actually seen someone propose using the #1 pick to dump Trae's undesirable contract. I can keep going, but why. 5
