Supes..I'm not interested in Clingan at one. For a few reasons. I am overly critical of him AT ONE.  The Sheldon reference had more to do with that moronic notion that the Hawks let the entire world know they wanted him instead of maneuvering and letting the draft work for them.  It was dumb. If the Hawks do the same...sorry..TO ME it's dumb. Nothing about Clingan.

They got one damn job.  Add top end talent with the number 1 pick and build out the rest of the roster with trades and the trade exception.

I think I'll be done with them if they draft Clingan at 1. After this last crappy season, they better improve this team.

I wouldn't like it either but it feels like a least-bad outcome in many ways.

That said, there's a reason players AND coaches typically fail at team building, so I'm not eased by hearing Quin has a lot of influence.  Just makes me feel more certain we have flawed direction.

I was reading this post nodding along.  “Right.  These are talented young players.  We can’t be assured of success but likewise we can’t be assured of failure.  Clingan is not my top guy but he has talent and tools.  I can certainly hope we don’t do a Sheldon 2.0 but I can’t assume Clingan will be that bust.  Whoever we draft, I’ll be rooting to see them work out.  It is too much to presume failure.”

You do have a point. The way he played for us, Shelly Long could have played the center position better. Well she kinda did with Sam Malone and the love of her life, Cliff.

You are 100% right that if he is our guy, we need to make everyone think Sarr or Risacher so Washington and/or Houston will trade up to get their guy.
