I was told they are strongly considering resigning him and paying the LT. Yes, I know. I'll believe it when I see it but there is a lot of hype around this in league circles. Capela is still on the market but I am told it's just not a big market out there for him. As I've said weeks ago, I think Clint will finish out his contract with Atlanta even if its as a backup. Hunter seems to be the enigma within the org. There are serious suitors but Atlanta has a lot of internal push back on moving him without a proper big wing moving forward and that's pretty much been the ongoing story with Hunter and his trade availability for years. I don't expect him to be moved. Atlanta is seriously pushing for a Mills upgrade. Delon Wright has been the target. I am told Alex Caruso is not the target and the Bulls would rather keep him. LaVine was close to getting moved to Detroit but he doesn't want to play there and had surgery. They shifted their energy to FA, Tobi Harris Atlanta isn't shopping SAC 1st or their 1st. I am not expecting them to be players in the starters tier of the trade deadline names. Hawks are really open to targeting another big wing to backup Hunter. Okoro is a player Atlanta is targeting. A.J. is said to Atlanta best asset, that Atlanta willing to move and he's been in talks for Okoro. If I had To rank Atlanta trade interest, 1. Backup big wing - They reached out to Brooklyn about both wings too but the price was too high for Atlanta. 2. Backup PG - Delon, reached out to Chicago about Caruso but cost was top high. I don't see a trade that's gonna be big. So you’re telling me all the rumors weren’t true? WOW Pretty sure 90% of Lakers fans had Murray pegged for Jalen whatever his name and a Disneyland pass Edited February 6 by theheroatl

h4wkfan
If our only potential trade is AJ for Okoro - then I hope we stand pat. even if Okoro is an upgrade for now - he will be signing a $10M+ contract next year. I’d rather bank on AJ bouncing back at a cost controlled level for another 2 years. Maybe we can swing mills + 2nd for Joe Ingles. He at least knows quin and is an expiring contract so we can free up cap space in the off season and all go back to pretending that ressler will actually go into the LT until he doesn’t.

That's been the biggest one. Availability but Availability of big wings is hard to find in the NBA and everyone needs one.

Premium Member JayBirdHawk Posted February 6 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 6 The NBA trade deadline is looming at 3:00 PM ET on Thursday. Things have been a bit slow during deadline week, and there are a number of factors for that. One issue that that teams are finding that there isn't a lot of interest in 2024 draft picks. The 2024 draft class is projected to be weaker than most other classes. That has teams more focused on adding future picks. That spills over to teams being increasingly wary of trading future picks. With the NBA's new second apron rules, many contenders are holding onto their draft picks because they'll need them to build out their rosters. In addition, 11 teams control 75% of all future draft picks. That much draft capital being controlled by roughly a third of the league has created somewhat of a trade logjam. There are also far more buyers than sellers on this year's trade market. Several teams are still in contention for the postseason, whether that's for playoff spots or spots in the Play-In Tournament. And the handful of teams that are out of contention, are asking high prices for their players, as many of those players are on long-term deals.
