Knicks, Sixers, and Bucks are more talented than us but have a lot of questions marks. Knicks have a whole team full of wings. only bigs I see on their roster are randle, Robinson and Sims and they are always hurt I think we have a lot to prove but no one in the east outside of Boston is very scary to me. Yeah my confidence in us elevating says more about the lack of confidence I have in other teams in the East. Everybody assumes ORL will continue to ascend. Well, everybody expected us to ascend a couple years ago too. Things change from year to year. CLE has fit issues just like we did. And have a new coach. PHI will be what they always are. MIL has GLLLLenn. Nuff said. NYK? I gotta believe there's some diminishing returns there on all the Villanova guys. Plus, as you said, they got no bigs. What they do with Randle could be the 'move' there. Need more? I can keep going. 2 1
Moderators Popular Post macdaddy Posted July 23 Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted July 23 It's interesting to see Dallas' approach compared to ours. Instead of youth, dna, culture, team U they've gone out and gotten Kyrie, PJ, Gafford, Klay, and now Dinwiddie. All players our org and to a large extent fans reject for various reasons. But they can play and so far this approach has shown good returns. It'll be interesting to see what happens to hawks and mavs this year.

Actually glad it is not because if it was I was going to say he looks smaller than listed height/weight. 1

I know Trae will be so proud if his brother excels at basketball, and at the same time be super salty if lil bro ends up bigger/taller than him lol 1

Moderators AHF Posted July 30 Moderators Report Share Posted July 30 In the absence of a multiplayer trade, I am going to be surprised if Durisic is on the roster this year. A 2-way feels like it doesn't represent a good career decision for him but the idea of us cutting Mathews for him just feels unlikely to me. We'll see. I've been told Nikola is most likely going to be "draft and stash" due to his injury.

Hard capped at $178.1 million (due to the Zeller SnT), so we can only use ~$8.5 mil of the $12 mil NTMLE.
Premium Member JayBirdHawk Posted July 31 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted July 31 5 Teams Regretting the 2024 NBA Offseason Atlanta Hawks 1 OF 5 Adam Hagy/NBAE via Getty Images If the Atlanta Hawks' plan is to wallow in mediocrity while not controlling any of their draft picks for the next three years, then this organization is doing a bang-up job. Atlanta did the smart thing by trading Dejounte Murray, yet took a draft-pick heavy return over actually improving the roster. Last season with Trae Young on the floor without the players who either were traded or signed elsewhere (Murray, Saddiq Bey and AJ Griffin), the Hawks had a net rating of minus-4.3 in 698 possessions with a defensive rating of over 120.0 (18th percentile, via Cleaning the Glass). Unless the Hawks do something else this summer, this looks like a team that will take a step back from the 36-46 record it mustered a year ago. No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher's pro comparison is Harrison Barnes according to Bleacher Report draft expert Jonathan Wasserman, which isn't going to be enough to lift this team into the playoffs anytime soon. Clint Capela is entering the final year of his contract and there's been no extension yet for promising power forward Jalen Johnson. Atlanta doesn't have the option to tank since the San Antonio Spurs own their first-round selection in 2025 and 2027, with the right to swap in 2026 due to the original trade for Murray. There has to be another move coming for Atlanta, as this current roster isn't good enough to make the playoffs and won't even get a lottery pick to show for it. The Hawks should be pursuing trades for veterans who complement Young and now have two extra first-round picks from the New Orleans Pelicans in order to do so. As of now, this has been an extremely disappointing offseason for Atlanta with no real direction in sight. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10129450-5-teams-regretting-the-2024-nba-offseason 1
