Trae Miles Hunter JJ CC It gives us the size we need on the court with Trae. I don't think Clint is going anywhere. The last month of the season he played really well. This saves Bogi during the regular season. You can spot start Bogi and move Bridges to the three if you want. I just don't believe we are going to make wholesale changes this year. To me, this is a semi realistic rebuild.

I'd love to get two or three unprotected firsts in my trade, but trying to be realistic. You don't always get what you want, but we are def improved. Yeah man. Any health from him is tenuous at best until proven otherwise. Murray carries more value than that. Your deal smells like a salary dump, honestly.

Like I said I was trying to be realistic as far as what the Hawks have been getting. What's another realistic way to improve the team? Keep Murray? Run it back again? 4 minutes ago, REHawksFan said: Starting Hunter and CC is a hard pass for me. I'm intrigued by Miles but you aren't doing anything to fix the biggest weakness from this year. Keep Hunter, but off the bench. Let CC go or come off the bench. The biggest problem this year was point of attack defense. Hence the adding of Delon Wright. Also, having two point guards on the floor has hurt us because we don't have enough size on the perimeter. Bogi playing with Trae or Murray improved the defense. POA defense is always a problem, but the biggest problem this year was the C position, imo. I'm just not bringing back Clint or Hinter to start. I'm fine with both off the bench, but starting is a no go. How many teams in the playoffs would either start for? Not many I'd imagine.

I mean, I brought in Jonathan Issac, Bridges, and Kel'el Ware. I'm not starting Ware. If you want to start OO, start him. If you want to start Issac at Center start him. We can start Clint he doesn't have to play the most minutes at Center. Who are you realistically getting to start for Hunter and Capela? Also, explain how you are acquiring them. You could bring him in the JC trade exception with a sign and trade or mid level exception. Trade Murray to the Magic for Issac and picks. This playoff run shows they need better point guard play. marco102
See below for my hypothetical lineup. 6 minutes ago, NBASupes said: They do but that price tag for Issac? This may not turn them into a championship contender, but it should get them out of the playin and once we are there maybe we can attract that second star. 1. Trade Murray to Orlando for Johnathan Issac and a protected first round pick (s), let's say top 10 or15 protected. This adds some much needed defensive versatility to the front court and Orlando desperately needs good point guard play to help that roster. 2. Sign Miles Bridges - He won't be going at the top tier free agency price and he's been cleared of his latest charges. He solves a lot of problems we have. He's a decent defender, great rebounder, can get his own shot and can play the 2, 3, or 4. 3. Sign Delon Wright - Helps with some point of attack defense which is much needed. 4. Draft a center - My preference is Ware, but whoever you prefer. 5. I wouldn't re-sign Bay. I like him, but with Issac and Bridges he won't be needed. Rest of the roster remains the same. 1. PG - Trae Young 1.5. Combo Guards - Delon Wright, Kobe Bufkin (both on bench) 2. SG - Miles Bridges, Bogi and AJ - These can play 2 or 3 so we aren't short on SF. 3 SF - De'Andre Hunter, Vit 4. PF - Jalen Johnson, Johnathan Issac, Mo Gueye 5. C - Clint Capela, OO, Kel'el Ware This roster isn't in cap hell either, so you can move pieces to improve under the new CBA if the results aren't there.
NBASupes
There is no player more defensively versatile with everything than Issac. Can guard 1-4 but also is a POA defender, can play off the ball, on the ball, covers ground exceptionally well, etc. Don't want him anywhere near the 5 position. I think Murray way too much for this type of deal. I would be more interested if this was for OO. Orlando's picks aren't that good either.

NBASupes
For me, I'll roll with the BI and Daniels for Murray and OO deal. Trade Garrison Matthews and AJ Resign Bey and Vit Sign Delon Wright Draft Edey Trae/Delon/Forrest Bogi/Daniels or Kobe BI/Hunter/Vit JJ/Gueye/Bey(IR) Edey or Capela/Bruno I want Delon back in Atlanta. Man, we need him back. 2

I think you'd have to trade away, Capela, Bogi or Hunter not to be and get back much less salary.

That's the best trade that's on the board. I will use it all the time. Let's see: Add 2.5 million for the trade of Daniels and BI 8,022,426 - 2,500,000 = 5,522,426 Resigning Bey 3/24 = 8,000,000 8,000,000 - 5,522,426 = 2,477,574 over LT D. Wright for 2/10 = 5,000,000 7,477,574 over LT Edey - 5,291,400 5,291,400 + 7,477,574 = 12,768,974 Trade AJ and Garrison for future draft picks - 6,120,173 12,768,974 - 6120173 = 6,648,801 We are clearly under the 2nd apron after this is all said and done.

Plan B: Markelle Fultz instead of D. Wright since D. Wright wants to stay in Miami. 1/4, save a million 5,648,801 over the LT Plan C - Portland drafts Clingan and Memphis drafts Edey. This will get expensive Add 2.5 million for the trade of Daniels and BI 8,022,426 - 2,500,000 = 5,522,426 Resigning Bey 3/24 = 8,000,000 8,000,000 - 5,522,426 = 2,477,574 over LT D. Wright for 2/10 = 5,000,000 7,477,574 over LT Knecht - 5,291,400, we realize, we need a replacement for Bogi in 2025. 5,291,400 + 7,477,574 = 12,768,974 This is where things change big time: Ayton for Hunter/AJ/Matthews 12,768,974 + 6,100,000 = 18,868,974 Forgot about Vit 4/8 18,868,974 + 2,000,000 = 20,868,974 2024 NBA 2nd Apron - $21,543,428 Trae/Delon/Forrest Bogi/Kobe/Knecht BI/Daniels/Vit JJ/Gueye/Bey(IR) Ayton/Capela/Bruno The Hawks would be just barely under the 2nd apron. The next year would be crazy. JJ and BI contracts are due. Capela's contract will be gone. The cap will go up as well. They would have to work out a good deal for JJ and BI. CC next contract should be under 3 million so he's not gonna be costly.
Spud2nique
Wait.. @marco102 did you say DJ for Isaac and a protected 1st? That ain’t you. It wasn’t you. You’re going against your own scouting report here as far as trade ideas. Blink twice if your account has be hacked. There are like 27 dogs amongst 450 players. I want like 2 on this team. I can’t describe what a dog is.. example. Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart are dogs. I don’t remember the last time we had one. ps Trae is of the 27 aforementioned dogs.

Yup, I'm essentially replacing DJ with Miles Bridges and Isaac. You don't have to get caught up on the protected first, if you think the magic will give us three firsts for DJ then think of it that way. I'm more looking at the players not the picks. I wonder how much Pablo would want Murray there after all that clownin on him at that proAm years ago. Also, I think your deal helps ORL more than us. They could be a high level lead guard away from being something. I always found it comical hearing people enamored with Suggs. All their guards are backups or situational guys, including him.

It's not a lot. And Centers: Portzingus Bam Adebayo Embiid I. Hartenstein Miles Turner B. Lopez Paulo Banchero Jarod Allen Jones V. Chet AD Joker NUrkic Gobert Gafford Zubac How many would Clint start over? I can make an argument that Clint would only start over Gafford. Maybe? The point is, if we want to improve the Hawks, we HAVE to upgrade the roster. Hunter and Clint are fine off the bench, but they are no longer starters, imo. 9 hours ago, marco102 said: I mean, I brought in Jonathan Issac, Bridges, and Kel'el Ware. I'm not starting Ware. To answer your question, I said in another thread I like the BI and Daniels for DJM plus salary trade. That would solve the 3 issue. For Center, I'm not sure. It would be best through the draft if there was a player that was a sure thing, but since there's not, it would need to be through trade. Maybe we start OO but he hasn't proven to be healthy consistently. So I'm not clear on that one yet. But I'm pretty confident that I don't want to run it back with Clint starting.
