My simple time and tested rules for how to evaluate summer league:

 

If you are a rookie and dominate summer league that is a great sign

If you are a rookie and you struggle in summer league it most likely doesn't mean anything

If you are a second year player and you don't dominate SL you are a certified bum 

If you are a 3rd year player or 4th year player or 5th year player and you go to SL you are a bum, doesn't matter how you perform.
