And don't start on the lebron hate. He didn't invent nepotism. He didn't even invent nepotism in the nba. They need to just let him play the season in the GL.

My expectation is the Hawks will not want to send him to College Park even if it would be good for him just because they won't want it to seem like the #1 pick can't play in the NBA. He will likely get 15 minutes a night backing up Hunter and then his minutes will spike when he starts while Hunter has his annual 20+ game injury list stint. His numbers won't look good at the end of the season but his pro experience means at least he will know how to play team basketball.

Summer League, to me, is confirming what the strengths of your game is. If you're touted as a shooter, I want to see if you can knock down shots. If you're a rim protector, you better be making it hard for people to score around the basket. Zacch showed good scoring versatility and was decent on defense. The little behind the back pass to the player for the attempted corner 3, is a type of play a player makes when he's totally comfortable about what he can do. He made about 2 or 3 other passes to open players that the normal rookie wouldn't make, let alone a 19 year old. I liked the fact that his game just looked mature and just wasn't out there playing wild as hell Zarr showed that his defense is legit. Good on the ball and very good awareness around the rim. Those back to back blocks were outstanding. And for a guy that people said had very little offense, he looked decent to me. Knocked down a midrange jumper and 2 threes with shot mechanics that looked pretty good. Even had some nice passes that led to assists. Good showing by both players, in my opinion.

Not convinced ZR is every going to be anything other than average offensively. Hopefully as he gets older he gets stronger too. Shaking handles which his offense is limited to catch and shoot. No midrange, no post ups, Limited vision. The one drive he attempted in traffic when he tried a left handed lay up was Capela like. He needs time. Just making sure we were watching the same guy. Specifically pay attention to the pass to Windler for the 3. There are about 11 players on our current roster that doesn't make this pass to the open man. Edited July 13 by TheNorthCydeRises 6
Popular Post Spud2nique
Another thing I liked about BOTH Zac and Niko was the handle. Hunter needs to hang out and learn from these dudes. Niko was a lil loose with it last night. Zacc though, I saw him a few times with ball pressure on him in tight spaces and I was thinking how is he gonna dribble out of this and somehow he ended up getting loose and either creating his shot or making a play, honestly it reminded me of.. Dude is a better dribbler than I thought. He’s better than Klay for sure and that’s big. If he can’t shoot with that quick release, get himself out of trouble with the dribble, he’s gonna be tough. Skilled young man here in Zacc. He’s gonna do it the smart efficient way.

theheroatl
Getting Reed and Zac would’ve been massive.. both will be great but at least Reed is in Houston not the east.

Popular Post NBASupes
Saying Risacher needs CP is [wrong]. Shit, he was massively more impressive than any other rookie we drafted in their 1st game in SL since, idk shit. Ever. No one from the Hawks looks good in SL as rookies in their first game. Risacher looked good and it was clear if we had a PG, he would look a lot better.

[] Risacher left me we a really good taste, pause. More than any rookie I can recall us drafting after game 1 in SL. He's actually good at Basketball

That’s in Lauri and Siakam territory. Its not that hard.. Franz Wagner was my closest comp for him coming in and Wagner is already a huge part of the Magic He's going to be better than MPJ. I think I underrated Risacher and he was #1 on my board for a minute. Overtook Reed but was overtaken by Edey. His ability on the ball is just a lot better than I have in my scout. Everything else is correct but that's significantly off. He's legit good in space. I really didn't think he was in my scout but then again, he was rarely in space in France. He was surrounded by non shooters. He's gonna be a problem. Maybe he could win ROY, I had Edey winning it running away. He's like Horford, he's gonna come in and you plug him into the starting lineup right now and you get better.
