Name a GM that treated him as a franchise player as shown by how he was prioritized in trade or free agency. This is a guy who has switched teams 4 times so if he is viewed as a franchise player those must have been some fiercely competitive fights for him. Huge trades. No doubt max contract offers, etc. Except Atlanta didn’t offer him a max deal and wanted him to resign for less which was part of why he left for Boston. Then Boston refused to max him on his next deal and let him walk to Philly who in turn also signed him for non-max money. Then Philly traded him AND a first round pick in exchange for…Danny Green. Then OKC traded him for a toxic salary thoroughly cooked Kemba Walker who they cut without playing a minute for the Thunder and a pick much like we traded for a first and a toxic contract when we were salary dumping a player that wasn’t highly valued. Then Boston resigned him for $10M per year, less than 1/3 of what they thought Portzingas was worth even though nobody thinks he is a even close to a franchise player. That is not the track record of a franchise player. Franchise players get max offers immediately and command huge returns when traded. 3
RedDawg#8
For the anti Trae crowd, the summer league Hawks play style is what our team would look like without a Trae Young to run your offense. Just a bunch of passing until someone gets open from three, if at all.

Premium Member Popular Post Sothron Posted July 18 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted July 18 I didn't watch tonight. Once I heard ZR was out I was like nope. I can't stand SL ball when there's no actual PG out there.
Moderators AHF Posted July 18 Moderators Report Share Posted July 18 Only the Hawks could have a stretch of like 4 games where anyone hurt had months to heal up before playing and they still end up losing every key player before game 3 of that stretch. 2

The issue with the ball movement style, is that you need a plethora of people on the court that can knock down 3 point shots ( i.e. - what they have in Boston ) Can't run that style with a bunch of 34% shooters from 3. Those types of shooters run hot ( 40% and above ) or ice cold ( sub 25% ). This is where you need Trae to control the action, to make sure the ball is getting to the correct guys that can put the ball in the basket.
Packfill
Is Zac actually hurt or did they just shut him down (which is not uncommon in SL for high draft picks)?

They made more shots than normal, which didn't make it that bad.
