Not sure if it's just SL and anything goes, but he kept launching despite being off and that's a good sign. I'm happy with what I saw tonight - especially considering the visible rookie jitters. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what he can do given time/chemistry with our starters.
Premium Member Popular Post Sothron Posted July 13 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted July 13 He should have had at least 5 assists if guys had made easy shots. I liked what I saw from him. You can see he's been playing professional ball since 16.
Popular Post Final_quest
That could have been a huge night if he made a couple more open looks. Probably some nerves rushed his shot, but encouraging first game. Hard for an off ball player to shine in SL, but he came close.
Premium Member Popular Post JayBirdHawk Posted July 13 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted July 13 I love that he can use both hands - a real ambidextrous game. His first shot make was a lefty hook scoop, his coast to coast dunk was a lefty dribble all the way with the lefty dunk. Interesting.

Gray Mule
I can already see the potential of a rotational player for this season's Hawk team.
Popular Post RedDawg#8
I try to keep focus on the fact that ZR will have a Trae Young to create offense and get the defense in rotation. He will be cutting back door, spotting up, and have reads vs mismatched/off balanced defenders. His skill set is perfect as a compliment to a PG like Trae. His passing is good enough to be a secondary playmaker, but in a lineup with JJ and possibly Daniels, he is even better as a tertiary playmaker. I think this cannot be overstated. We haven’t had this level of passing and IQ next to Trae. We have had plenty of strong iso players next to Trae, but never guys who can keep things flowing and moving and not bogged down, or looking to get the ball back to Trae to reset the offense. I think our tempo is going to be much faster than anything we are used to. ZR is not a superstar in the making without having an off the dribble game, but, we don’t need that. He could very well develop that down the line and he did show some slick finishing. But today, next to a ball dominant playmaker, he has a chance to star in a role very early compared to other number one picks who need to be the guy right away. SN. I want Sarr to struggle out of spite, and at first it looked like he was lost out there; but, the length and mobility are real. Once he settled in he was making an impact on defense while doing a handful of little things offensively. He was not strong on the glass at all, which was his big knock. I think he will be exactly who we thought he was. Hoping in a team context ZR makes a bigger winning impact for us long term. Sarr will end up being the typical freakish athlete that the league prefers to promote over more boring BBIQ players. Overall, I am happy with yesterday despite the loss. Tony Snell played the right way and Trae had a ton of success next to Snell but Risacher is levels better.
