I have hoped the Hawks would trade for him for years now. Might not work out, but it might be like Kelenic for the Braves, give someone confidence and a supportive environment (and with Trae's help), he could really turn out well for us. There are played with “Hawks DNA” that were affordable and the Hawks could have offered and made it work. The DJM trade was not a hindrance to getting a verbal from those players. If they passed on those players I highly doubt they are trading for Ayton or signing Jones. Like I said, they can verbally agree to things since they could either rope it into the DJM trade or plan their cap post trade. The DJM trade is not a hindrance to anything. Clearly since we have 3 hours left until it can clear, I don't believe we will see much if any modification besides an already announced trade included with a swap of 2nd rounders.
