His caphold for next season would be ~$13 million as opposed to whatever his new salary +$20 - $25 mil per epuld be. Doing this saves you space under the cap to target FAs then exceed it to sign JJ. Closer to average but no CC and thats clear. 3. He's switchable when confident 4. He's a solid finisher and a top notch mid range shooter 5. He doesn't exactly help us in the toughness area.
