Mostly because I have no clue WHAT we're trying to do doing or who is really in charge. It looks like we're trying to rebuild without our own draft picks...but there's not enough time for that. We have two seasons to put a team around Trae before he walks (and I'm sure he will walk)...and like one season to do something before we have that "1yr rental" market value for him. We are a case study for ownership meddling. On DJ...ya'll, he took the time show love and appreciation to the city and to the Hawks organization top to bottom: We need to put the DJM conversation behind us. No relationship is perfect. He's had a few things to say about Quin here and there, so he probably didn't like how he was being used. But that's such a normal thing for every NBA player - stars and role players alike. Not having our pick doesn't mean we need to try to contend for a championship, or push all our chips in-- it just means tanking is not an option. If the front office decides that the best course forward is developing our young guys and getting them lots of minutes to set us up better in future years, at the cost of some wins this season, that is still a reasonable position to take. We don't need to be a playoff team. What matters is continuing to do whatever possible to build the best team-- we should not be making decisions to feel better about hind sighting the trade.
