Thought the idea is to get these lengthy wing defenders to put around Trae.

Who's running point for us if we trade Trae?

That is the plan but I worry about Trae and his mindset.

We made a good trade. Daniels is a good poa defender. Lakers pick is unprotected. We also shed salary.

Now we know we aren't getting Ingram. I wonder if Trae to Spurs is coming next 🤔

I wouldn’t be shocked. Guess we are cleaning house. 🫠

He has every right to ask out and that was before today's action imho.

I'll wait for the other moves to drop, but he made his concerns and wishes verrryyyy clear. I can't imagine a rookie, Daniels, and Nance are what he meant....

Y'all can debate how much you care about his feelings. But this part seems pretty cut and dry from his perspective lol.

just not true at all in my opinion

I don't think so but there have been no talks about Trae all summer

It makes 0 sense to keep Trae at this point!

especially since we didn’t get Ingram back in the Trade!

looking at the return for djm it’s clear Trae is next!

Looks like we basically broke even right for the Murray trade?

  • We gave up a charlotte pick thats basically 2 seconds
  • 2025 pick
  • 2026 swap
  • 2027 pick
  • Gallo

And we get back

  • Larry Nance Jr
  • Dyson Daniels
  • 2025 pick
  • 2027 pick

Is that not close to even?

Yeah I’m not mad at it…I think we broke even hopefully more to come

We got back similar to equal value to what we gave. I think some of you all are delusional based on the knicks going loco.

Landry seems to have a vision … Tall defenders, low use on offense, hit 3s for the most part (cmon Dyson!) surrounding Trae. I’m good with it. Looking forward to seeing how he fills out the rest of the roster.

Vision. Miss me with that. Mediocre vision. Blind mf.

Unless he goes to the Spurs it makes very little sense to trade him. Any team he goes to will be a playoff team. Those picks won’t be good.

Yall we got 2 rotation players that play defense. Thats the kind of thing that adds to wins.

Nance is a solid pickup, Trae gets another pnr big who can hit the three now and then, basically John Collins off the bench.

Dyson is a legit 6'7 wing with great perimeter defense.

I wonder whats the plan for Vit now, I hope we bring him back.

It is close to even but the DJM contract really boosted his value

By this logic, we should have had to pay more for him because he was on an even better value contract when we acquired him.  So coming out even, with him in a bigger contract is not bad…

I'm trying to understand why there's so much discontent.

We acquired two rotation players who are tall and excel in defense, with reasonable contracts, plus two first-round picks including the Lakers' unprotected first round and another first-rounder in 2027. In essence, we've recouped those years, and we could gain even more from Capela or Hunter.

We've been yearning for size around Trae for years, and now that we have it, there's still dissatisfaction. It seems we can never truly please everyone here.

Trae wants to win...put a team capable of helping him do that around him instead of always a cost cutting effort as the underlying current.

I am being patient and not overly critical (yet) as this is the first domino.

Daniels could barely get on the floor in the playoffs. Nance is fine, but he's just that....fine.

I'm the first dude on here to say "we need to improve the overall talent level" and boy oh boy I love me the 7-10th roster spots.

But not for DJM. This raises the floor to? 8th seed?
