I did, It was really Giddey and Mills show,  Landale was also great. Daniels was outstanding in defense but in offense did not have the ball much in his hands. He was staying on the corner a lot and made some drivers to the basket. I have the feeling he could do more on offense if given the chance.

Were his 3s all from the corner?

Canada beat Spain so Australia moves to knockout round.  At least 1 more game for DD.  Just get through this with no injuries and I'll be happy.

We should be getting exciting previews and hoping our guys in summer league and the Olympics get some valuable experience to supercharge them for next season but I am down to rooting that they simply don't get hurt at this point.

I will say that I'm confident in Dyson's ability to fill a Thabo type role for us next season.  I'm really curious how far beyond that he can go.  I am not as optimistic with you about his other production but Thabo was a good player and would be a nice baseline for impact with more potential if he demonstrates superior scoring, playmaking, etc. on the other side of the ball.

The thing Dyson has over Thabo is he is a capable ball handler and passer.

Agree.  Just comparing the per minute numbers, it looks like in Thabo's time in Atlanta he was a better scorer (on a points per minute basis), shooter (on a TS% basis), rebounder and shot blocker than Daniels was in NO but Daniels has a significant edge in assists and A/TO.  I do expect DD's numbers to improve across the board as he develops and for him to have a bigger role as a scorer than he did in NO (hopefully helping him also be more efficient than he was there).

Bud’s offensive system turned role players in to All Stars. Its a tough comparison to what Daniels was doing in Nola.

It may make more sense to compare Thabo’s year 1+2 to Daniel’s

I don't know why you keep trying to compare Thabo to DD. Daniels is miles more talented. It's like trying to compare Bruno to JJ

No.  Bruno is a borderline rosterable player.  Thabo was an elite defender and consistent and impactful rotation player over a long career.

The comparison to Daniels is I view Thabo as a baseline.  Daniels should be way better than Thabo was when he was in Atlanta.  Comparing Thabo to what Daniels has done career to date sets out how big a jump he needs to make to meet that expectation for this year.

If I thought Daniels was to Thabo as Bruno is to JJ I would be predicting a minimum of All-Star level production from Daniels because Thabo was a way more legit and impactful player than Bruno and guys who are way more impactful than JJ are All-NBA.  I don’t think Daniels needs to be an All-Star or All-NBA player this year like that would imply.

Do you think DD’s defense will **** on what Thabo did as a defender when he was here?

DD can be a taller Derrick White. He's a significantly more talented player than Thabo. Thabo wasn't an elite defender. He was very good but he was purely a specialist. Offensively, Thabo left a lot to be desired. I don't see your comp at all. Thabo is limited. DD isn't

I'll give Thabo the defensive BBIQ edge based on his peak but that's as good as it gets. DD can defend more positions as well.
