I think the bigger issue is the DD doesn't provide enough 3&D to be on a Quin team.

Whatever the “market” for him is, I can guarantee that it’s different depending on what team is trying to sign him. 
If the Lakers offer him 3/60 with a TO on third year, the Hawks would have to offer 3/90 w/ no TO. 

The Hawks aren’t a serious team, and not a serious market with high expectations as currently constructed. Any FA of any value is not going to come here for the same price as they could get with in a better market. 
DD isn’t going to leave a crappy Bulls team to finish out his career for the Play-in Hawks, especially on their bench.

But going into the season as 'let's see what we have in Zacc, Dy, JJ'  - what is the point?  

If the focus is not on winning, then what exactly are we doing?
