Opening Ceremony kicks off Friday night.

We get to see Bogi (Serbia), Dyson (Australia) and Bruno (Angola) participate for their respective countries.

I'm on all those but will also watch some of the field events and boxing.

Plus I'll sorta root against-for Team USAB.

Do you remember when the guy got speared in his chest from the javelin thrower?

Ooh that sounds painful.  Not watchin' that video. 🤢

Just watched it and he looked like he was probably ok.  Wasn't impaled on it or anything.  But crazy for sure.

You're so casual.  "It's not like he died or anything."

Be honest, AH, you watch snuff films to put yourself to sleep don't you?

The judge, Engelbert Perchthaler, was seriously injured, in a daze he pulled the javelin from his stomach in the stadium, causing intense bleeding. Luckily a doctor had just competed in a 1000m race and ran over to begin administering first aid. The guy was then airlifted to a nearby hospital and saved there. But it was close.

The gif cut off pretty early in that journey then.  Wow.  Glad he made it.

Seems like a bad idea to have people out there without any protection other than "don't lose sight of the javelin among all the lights."
