Admin
I havent really watched the Lakers too closely this year, but from watching them tonight it sure looks like Payton still has quite a bit left in the tank. Most of us have thought for years that GP and JT would be a great backcourt together, especially since they are such good friends but more importantly because of GPs defense, size, and playmaking ability. If we could get him for 6-8 mil next year for 3-4 years would it be worth it since we could keep JT and he in the backcourt together? Signing him, drafting Howard or Okafur, and then filling out the roster with some solid role players could make us into an exciting time that can win some games. KB21
I wonder what his relationship to Terry Stotts is. Stotts was on the staff in Seattle during Payton's younger years, which happened to be Seattle's heyday.
Admin
Thats true.......I would have to think that they probably have a good relationship since we have never heard otherwise. It sure would be a fun backcourt with JT and GP and then have Jax on the wing. Sura and Person off the bench and then spend the next 2 drafts plus FA money on our frontcourt. Plainview1981
The same Payton that Mike Bibby droped 30 something on the other night. Payton is old and isn;t very good any more. It looks like he had a good game againest a bunch of broke down Hawks scrubs. But that doesn't really mean alot. What did he do to stop Bibby? pathway23
Yeah JT torched him for 23 even though GP may have looked good offensively, he isn't shutting down his man like he used to
