emeans
Shouldn't we sign Sura to play the PG/SG. I really like how this rebuilding is shaping up. We have the potential of being really good in the 2 to 3 years. I have: JT/Sura/Ivey Sura/Childress/Hansen Diaw/Josh Smith/Chris Crawford Donte Smith/Chris Crawford/Udezie(sp?)/Henderson Pryz/Collier That is 14 players. Two have to go. We may not sign Udezie and Ivey may get cut. Suddenly I am seeing too many players. Who stays and who goes?
Gray Mule
Most all N.B.A. teams carry 15-18 players on their early roster until time for season to start. Then, they "hide" one or two on I.R. and keep them. This idea of having extra players who are injured {"wink-wink"} is widespread thru the league, although the orginization has to lie about some injuries. The N.B.A. has the "Development League" which is just an O.K. deal. What they really need is a farm system similar to baseball. That way, teams can keep young players, let them play a regular schedule, have them available to "Call up" when there is an injury to one of the "regular" 12 man roster players. No. We don't have too many players. We will probably add some more, not cut the roster. Not for now, any way. Several good free agents out there and probably some good players who were not drafted who are now free to sign with any team right now, as far as I know. As you can see, plenty of talent for a farm system is out there. All they need to do is set it up properly. Imagine two Hawk's teams to follow. The home team in Atlanta and the farm team! Go Hawks!!!!!
DominiqueWilkins
I think we allow Sura to walk, if all of our draft picks make the team. I think we need to focus on getting some big guys on this team now. I wouldn't sign Sura, but during free agency I would pursue theses names. Manu Jamal Crawford M. Daniels Q-Rich depending upon the price they are wanting, any of those would be a upgrade from what we have now. Those guys give us sometype of name, and I don't think Sura does that for us. So I would stick with making the right moves to land guys like K-Mart, Sheed, Swift, and so fourth.

cyman3
remember now, 2nd rounders dont automatically get guaranteed CONTRACTS. not all our 2nd rounders will make our roster (they may... or maynot) that being said, i still say we give SURA an offer. he adds DEPTH to our team... Weez
we got ivey as sura's replacement. he's cheaper, younger, and isn't looking for a multimillion dollar three year deal that his injury history questions in validity. We got four players in this draft...and of all of them, I'm most skeptical of Donta Smith making the team. Pryz will be back (and perhaps local guy Collier). He's tall, a good rebounder, and good outlet passer. He's what a running team needs (in a way, he has his warts too, but he's cheap). A pf with athleticism is now the goal. Kenyon would be great (fit) for this team, and we're going to have to overpay for any decent FA. Swift would work, as you know what you're getting with a little upside left. Much cheaper than kenyon, but a slight decrease in talent, large slide in heart.
