drzachary
Are the stars aligning to summon the great Kenyon Martin to the Hawks' kingdom?
Admin
Its possible, but I would say more likely he has given word that he wants to stay in NJ. Question is, will they force him to get an offer someplace else? If thats the case and they are just going to match, we are possibly the only team left that might make a run at him so they could tie up a good bit of our cap room till the 29th which would really suck. Packfill
I don't think it would hurt the Hawks too bad because we have nearly $20 million in cap room and outside of Kenyon (who tie up around $11 mill) none of the other available free agents - i.e., a Swift, Thomas, etc. - are going to command much more than $6.5 to start. Vafan
Maybe it is because they are signing Okur to an offer sheet. Also, maybe they sensed that Martin wants to sign with either Denver or NJ.
