Premium Member Diesel Posted August 4, 2004 Premium Member Report Share Posted August 4, 2004 The deals that we could not have done... JT/Hendu/Howard to NJ for Kidd? Wow... Can you say Salary Cap releif. Walker/D. Smith to Chicago for Chandler/Gordon/Eddie Robinson? Gordon/J-Chill/Al H./T. Chandler/??? Walker to Philly for Skinner/Dalembert/Big Dog. Lascar78
I'm gonna pretend you didnt just suggest getting big dog back here...
KB21
I'm also going to pretend that he didn't just suggest saddling ourselves with Eddie Robinson.
JTFan31
lol, this is funny. You are dreaming by having us receivng Gordon. And having Big Dog back in Atlanta, I rather have Isiah Rider instead.
Premium Member Diesel Posted August 4, 2004 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted August 4, 2004 The truth of the matter is that we can get Big Dog/Dalembert/Skinner in trade for Walker and CUT big dog that same hour. Sure, we pay his salary. But at the end of the year, his salary converts to 12 million. In the meantime, we get Dalembert/Skinner. Both players fit our mold. In fact, Skinner makes an awesome PF off the bench. I can see: PG/J-Chill/J-Smooth/Al/Dalembert as being a future... All young, long, defensive... If that PG is Tony Parker... we have an awesome future.
Premium Member Diesel Posted August 4, 2004 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted August 4, 2004 Actually, if taking Eddie Robinson will get us Tyson/Gordon... I would do that twice on Friday. Gordon is a shooter/PG. Tyson is a rebounding, defensive force.
Packfill
Stop pretending is right. No way Philly trades Dalembert for any player on the Hawks roster.
Packfill
That trade I would do. Chicago, however, categorically would not do that trade.
Premium Member Diesel Posted August 4, 2004 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted August 4, 2004 Maybe true... I don't know if Philly is not happy with Kenny Thomas, but I do know that they like Dalembert. Unfortunately for them... His contract is up soon and they have to get in line to get him. We can get him then.
Premium Member Diesel Posted August 4, 2004 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted August 4, 2004 I'm not so sure about that. More than anything else, Chicago wants to be in the Hunt for Free agents next year. Paxson has shown no love for Chandler and Curry and as soon as he can get out of the big deals holding them back, I think Paxson will look to trade these guys away. If he gets out of JYD's deal by trading him and Crawford away for Deke, Harrington, and Anderson, You better believe that getting out of Robinson and Davis' contracts become job #1. It was suggested earlier that Chicago wanted to trade one of their baby bulls for Walker. It was to be Chandler/#3 overall/Antonio Davis for Walker/filler. Then Dallas made the trade with Washington instead. I think they'd still give up that trade if it meant they get the cap space to go after Ray Allen in the Summer.
