Buzzard
Hey all, Here are some interesting stats off of ESPN’s site. They have a tool that calculates players’ stats per 40 minutes and our rookies look pretty good. JSmoothe 16.2 pts 10.8 boards 3.3 assist 1.65 stls 3.51 blocks J Childress 13.6 pts 9.7 boards 3.0 assist 1.59 stls 1.09 blocks R Ivey 13.2 pts 4.2 boards 5.5 assist 2.96 steals .40 blocks D Smith 16.7 pts 8.9 boards 1.1 assist 1.12 steals 2.23 blocks Their assist to turn over is high which explains why they get benched but their future looks pretty good to me. Their defensive stats were the eye openers. Very solid stats for all of them; in fact they have the best defensive stats on our team. Dontes stats could be overblown since he has not played a lot. But then again maybe they are not and he and the others just keep getting better. Tyrone Lue and Tony Delk's stat lines look pretty good as well. Our centers scored a lot but none of them averaged a block a game. That’s pretty sad if you ask me. Mighty Kevin Willis looked good on the defensive end though. He is actually a 10/10 and 1 guy with forty minutes. Too bad he cannot give it to us. Though I am not happy with our season, I do feel real good about last years draft. Things are going to get better but this rebuilding takes time. Just got to keep on keeping on. Gray Mule
We sometimes get down, like last night when the 76ers suddenly EXPLODED from the 3 point line. Can any one be THAT good? Four or five in a row from downtown and not a one of them was even close to a miss. "Nothing but the bottom of the net" was all we could see. And, the ball just touched his hands and it was gone to the goal. Reminded me of a second baseman turning a double play - Can't stop that because no one can cover another player THAT close. Just catch, shoot, swish. Another 3 ! Wow ! What else can you say about that. Hawks have so many young players who have to grow and mature into good N.B.A. players. If we had a veteran, good team and added one rookie, we would think he was good but we don't have to depend on him, game after game. Hawks have so many youngsters, we must rely on all of them, every night, every game. Thanks for sharing the stats. Proves that the Hawks are doing things right, growing our own future stars!!! Go Hawks !!!
Packfill
Just to clarify, those stats are based on 48 minutes of play, not 40.
Weez
thanks for the clarification ~ I hadn't looked, but was wondering if they 'downgraded' the stats to what a younger player could average if still in college....
Buzzard
My bad, Must of had college on my mind:) Just tried to fix it and its to late. Oh well, I still like these stats from our rooks and I would (if I was BK) definetely keep all four of them and also resign Delk and Lue.
