Lascar78
this one seems much more likely to me than the previous. I could see the top 5 going like this. here 1. Atlanta Andrew Bogut 7-0 242 C Utah So. 2. Charlotte Marvin Williams 6-9 230 SF UNC Fr. 3. NewOrleans Chris Paul 5-11 175 PG Wake Forest So. 4. Utah Deron Williams 6-3 210 PG Illinois Jr. 5. Golden St. Chris Taft 6-10 260 PF/C Pittsburgh So. 9. Toronto Tiago Splitter 6-11 236 PF Brazil 1985 10. LA Lakers Raymond Felton 6-0 194 PG UNC Jr. 11. LA Clippers Gerald Green 6-8 200 SF TX HSSr. 12. Orlando Martell Webster 6-7 235 SG/SF WA HSSr. 13. New Jersey Charlie Villanueva 6-11 240 PF Conn So. 14. Minnesota Channing Frye 6-11 248 C Arizona Sr. 15. *Charlotte Antoine Wright 6-7 205 SG Tex. A&M Jr. 16. *Toronto Danny Granger 6-8 225 SF New Mex. Sr. 17. *Denver Ersan Ilyasova 6-9 210 SF Turkey 1987 18. Indiana Sean May 6-8 260 PF North Carolina Jr. 19. *Boston Marko Tomas 6-8 198 SG Croatia 1985 20. Memphis Rashad McCants 6-3 207 SG UNC Jr. 21. *Phoenix Johan Petro 7-0 260 C France 1986 22. Denver CJ Miles 6-6 210 SG TX HSSr. 23. Houston Hakim Warrick 6-8 220 SF/PF Syracuse Sr. 24. Sacramento Wayne Simien 6-8 255 PF Kansas Sr. 25. Detroit Joey Graham 6-7 225 SF Oklahoma St.Sr. 26. Seattle Andray Blatche 7-0 230 PF NY HSSr. 27. *Utah Rudy Fernandez 6-5 180 SG Spain 1985 28. *Miami Monta Ellis 6-2 175 SG MS HSSr. 29. San Antonio Kennedy Winston 6-6 220 SG Ala. Jr. 30. *New York Jarrett Jack 6-3 202 PG Georgia Tech Jr. ------------------------------------------ A few notes: -To me Martynas is still too high, I would see him going more around 10-15 -I think Gerald Green is a little too low, I think someone in the top 10 will take a chance on him -While I do think someone will take Villanueva in the 10-15 range, I think he belongs in the 15-20 range -I think May is about in the right place, nowhere near the top 10 -Jarrett Jack seems low to me, but I have a bias. So does Stoudamire. This gives me good hope that we will get one of jack, garcia, or stoudamire in the 2nd round which would be awesome
Premium Member Peoriabird Posted April 19, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted April 19, 2005 I wonder why NBADRAFT mock has us not picking the power forward from gonzaga with our first pick in the second round?
TheRedStripes
the nbadraft.net mock is pretty crappy if you ask me, the draftcity.com mock looks a lot better
Packfill
So Roko Leni-Ukic is no longer in the draft?
Lascar78
Turiaf? Probably because we already have Al and Josh smith who can play the 4. I think we would take Garcia or Stoudamire. Probably Garcia given BK's affinity for long players. We need shooting in the worst way. If we were to get Bogut and Garcia, we would have a young talented core at 4 positions PG- SG-Garcia SF-Childress PF-Smith C-Bogut just from the last 2 drafts. That is outstanding drafting. We could really use Garcia or Stoudamire. If we were to get Turiaf, you have a logjam at PF basically.
Guest Walter
That would make me sad. He's the best of the rest Pgs and could be something very special. W
TheRedStripes
Ukic will be in the draft from what i have read, i made a post on the draftcity.com message board and some guys from Europe said he would be in the draft, and on the draftcity.com mock he is on there, the nbadraft.net mock isn't that great id look at the one for draftcity.com
Lascar78
Hahaha, I hadn't checked that one out, but it's much better. As a matter of fact, every single comment I made is correct on draftcity. Martynas is lower, Green is higher, Villanueva at 15, May at 18, Jack much higher (at 12). I would still prefer us taking stoudamire over turiaf in the 2nd though

Guest Walter
He's one of the few players I would trade up for. A draft of Bogut and Ukic would be SWEET! How to make that happen you ask? Trade the future LA pick for the higher of Denver's 2 picks this year (currently 17). I only do this if Ukic's available. They may not want two 1st rd picks this year, especially if they can likely improve upon it next year (only top 10 protected with LA being in slight trouble). After Felton there is a gap of Pgs so I think if Ukic does declare we would have to use a pick that high to get him. Who knows he may perform like he did last year at the camps and improve his stock even further. W
TheRedStripes
Walter i like you... That is exactly what i have been hoping for Bogut and Ukic, if we could get that i would be extremely excited, from what i have seen and read about Ukic, i honestly think he may end up being the best point guard in this draft
Moderators AHF Posted April 19, 2005 Moderators Report Share Posted April 19, 2005 Quote: I wonder why NBADRAFT mock has us not picking the power forward from gonzaga with our first pick in the second round? THE NBADRAFT.NET MOCK IS NOT TEAM SPECIFIC. I.e., they aren't projecting who the Hawks would take. They won't do that until after the draft lottery next month. Right now they are listing the prospects without regard to team needs or desires and are listing the teams in their most likely order of draft position. If the Hawks announced today that they were definitely taking Green with the top pick if they get it, the current form of the nbadraft.net mock would not change but once they make it team specific after the lottery is announced they would move Green up to the Hawks pick. Lascar78
well in that case predicting deron williams so high is absurd to me
TheRedStripes
yeah Deron being that high is just crazy, the only way he would be picked that high is if Paul was already gone and a team was desperate for a point guard and already had some pieces in place to be a decent team. Packfill
I don't think it is a stretch to say Deron Williams should be a top 5 pick. He would be a great fit on the Hawks.

TheRedStripes
In today's draftcity.com mock Roko-Leni Ukic has moved up to the no.17 pick, i think thats a good sign he will be in the draft, and i think thats more realistic as well

Premium Member Wretch Posted April 20, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted April 20, 2005 Right before the draft, they had Gordon moving up to #3. They had Livingston and Harris backwards...at 5 and 4, but they still had a pretty good idea of who was going where. I think Deng at #6 for us was a good call. It's what I was expecting.
