Wurider05
Who's to say that Marvin Williams won't be a bust. I think that is maybe 60/40 tha we won't bust but don't you guys think that we get players who have a defined position. I read that someone thinks that he can play the two. If Bogut falls to number two that would make things so much simpler for us. We don't need another Small forward playing out of position.
Gray Mule
So true- Nothing in life is guaranteed. That's why we have contests of all kind, from ball games to horse races, car races and almost everything you can think of -- Nothing is a "Sure thing." The best we can do is trust the judgement of the people who know, then make a good educated guess. Sometimes some of the highest draft picks don't really work out. Remember, several years ago, a young man with an apparent great future as an N.B.A. star, was picked early in the draft. A short time later he was dead from an overdose of drugs. This was one of the saddest things that I ever remember happening. Any draft pick could turn out to be a bust - NO exception. I think that your odds are way off, however. A 40 % chance that Marvin Williams will be a bust??? No such thing as a sure thing -- True. But, I think the higher these young men are positioned in the draft, the better the odds are that they will be a success. Remember, last year the world was told by one of the "Experts" that the Hawks second pick in the first round had the best chance of anyone in the draft of being a complete bust. Yep, the same one who won the slam dunk contest!
