thescout10
Getting Marvin is great but remember rookies generally don't set the league on fire.My question with the other teams filling needs a probably no free agents that are big impact players coming to the hawks how bad will they be? What draft spot will the hawks get? Who may be available next year given it may be one of the weakest draft classes because of the new age requirements? Ronnie Brewer how good is he? RAHMOR
We won't be able to predict that until after the free agency period.

Plainview1981
I think we can because I doubt there will be any signings that make a huge impact.
thescout10
Given that our past track record has been terrible at luring free agents what impact players want to come to atlanta? Those teams that have them will match the offers.I am trying to be realistic.Look into the future what free agents at center or point guard can you build around? I rest my case!I want the hawks to win I understand fit each of the puzzle which may take a few years but what players next year would the hawks have a chance to draft and how high will the hawks draft?Top 5? Premium Member sturt Posted June 29, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 29, 2005 Remember the days of Mookie, Smitty, and Deke? It's not been so long ago that we were one of those teams that everyone thought was on the verge if only we could lock up that one FA that would put us over the top. Problem was, all of the impact FAs went where the money was. I dare say that money will again become an issue, and that BK is wise to continue his pattern of patience. RAHMOR
A huge impact for us right now is +10 games. I believe swift and watson can probably add at least that much if we add them to what we drafted tonight.
Plainview1981
Watson is a good backup to have. I don't think he can add 10 wins to this team. Swift would be good and might bring an extra 2 or 3 wins. I think I'd rather have Dan Gadzirc(sp?)because he is a bigger body and is a better rebounder. Gray Mule
One of the best pure shooters available, chosen @31. Greatest athlete chosen @ #2. Best chance to become a superstar in the NBA, we are told. Victories next season? 11 Now, that's really thinking good thoughts about the Hawks!!! Then, there is another pick to come. Free agents, who will refuse our money.
Plainview1981
The reason is the Hawks gave up 101PPG last year and was near the bottom in scoring last year. Is any of the problems really addressed? Even if the Hawks got the most talented players available that doesn't mean the wins will increase next year. If the hawks some how do land Dalambert it could increase to 19 or so.
