Lascar78
Babcock is officially the worst GM in the league, leaving Isiah at #2. At least in terms of drafting. They took Arujo last year at #8, and this year they take Villanueva at #7, so he can back up Chris Bosh I guess? I don't understand how you reach so much to get a player with marginal talent and attitude issues at a position you don't need. Unbelievable. Thank god our babcock is long gone

Packfill
AS much as I disrespect Vince Carter for laying an egg to get out of Toronto, it is easy to see where he was coming from. I feel bad for Chris Bosh.

Premium Member Diesel Posted June 29, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 29, 2005 I don't think you can look at Isiah's drafts and call him bad? He drafted Stoudamire, Camby, Al Harrington, Brezec, and Trevor Ariza... That's really not bad at all..
Lascar78
Quote: hmmmmmmm Hawks done the same thing. The difference is that Marvin Williams was the best player available. Villanueva was projected to go a good bit lower based on talent, and they reached all the way down to get him at a position that makes no sense for them. It would be like if we got Danny Granger with the #2 pick.

The fact is that sooner or later in the next two years somebody has to go.
Lascar78
I agree. I don't think Al will be here for too much longer.
Plainview1981
Unless Billy Knight plans to play Al Harrington at center (which the Hawks have little shot of being good on defense or winning with him there)then he or Williams or Smooth has to go. I think Childress probably will not be that good at SG(Unless the Hawks plan to put Smith or Williams on the top notch SG's) but that is probably where he will play. So somebody has to go. Unless Billy expects Williams or Smith to be bench player for the next several years. but with Billy not understanding PG it leads me to believe he doesn't know much of what he is doing. some body has to run an offense.
