Sage11
Some have been suggesting that we get Watson to run the point position for us. My question is, does he fit what BK wants to do here? Is he better than Lue? What does he bring to the party we don't already have? Why should we pull the trigger on this guy? Here are their numbers: Quote: Earl Watson Memphis Grizzlies Position: G Height: 6-1 Weight: 190 College : UCLA '01 Player file | Team stats 2004-05 Statistics PPG 7.7 RPG 2.1 APG 4.5 SPG 1.04 BPG .24 FG% .426 FT% .659 3P% .319 MPG 22.6 Tyronn Lue Atlanta Hawks Position: G Height: 6-0 Weight: 178 College : Nebraska '98 Player file | Team stats 2004-05 Statistics PPG 11.2 RPG 2.1 APG 4.6 SPG .47 BPG .00 FG% .451 FT% .861 3P% .355 MPG 28.7 Thoughts ???? Packfill
Watson is an upgrade in the sense that he is a superior defender and is better at running an offense. He does not shot as well as Lue. I think he would be a big upgrade.
Moderators AHF Posted July 28, 2005 Moderators Report Share Posted July 28, 2005 Upgrade as far as a true PG and he is a better defender. I think Lue is a better scorer. I'd rather have Watson.
Premium Member Vol4ever Posted July 28, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 28, 2005 Both players are actually backups. I would say that Watson is a better defensive player and distributor, but Lue looks more to score. I personally think the only shot at a FA is Curry. Phoenix will in fact match JJ. If we do not get a FA of any calibur, it will be more of the same as last year. Salim will improve the outside shooting. Marvin Should be a better perimter player or better overall player at SF. We will get out lunch ate in the paint. We have NO low post defender or scorer at PF and C.
