Premium Member Diesel Posted August 1, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 For Phoenix to get a better deal from somebody else... Say the Lakers or Hornets.. And to totally screw us out of Johnson right?
Admin chillzatl Posted August 1, 2005 Admin Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 They can't sign and trade him without him agreeing to the terms before they sign him.
swolehawk2
Wouldn't JJ have to agree to that?
clrumph
No other team with cap space is willing to pay Johnson $70M/5yrs so he is ours without a doubt.
Premium Member Diesel Posted August 1, 2005 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 What if something like LAL offers Odom/Medvlenko for JJ... Do you think JJ would not sign with LAL so that he can play with Kobe? Or what if the Hornets offered Magloire/Mash... or What if Orlando offered Christie/Cato... or What if Boston offers Pierce/Blount... I was just reading your post about him not being on the roster yet and since the moritorium is not over, I was thinking worse case scenerio.. swolehawk2
If he is sincere about having the ball in his hands and running a team he wouldn't agree to that....would they pay him 70 million?

Admin chillzatl Posted August 1, 2005 Admin Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 his desires to come HERE. He didnt' simply say he wants out of Phoenix. he said he wants to come to Atlanta, specifically. He wants the chance to be the man. He's not going to get that in L.A. and I don't think anyone else is willing to give up what it would take to get him. Otherwise, other teams would already be involved. As I heard it just moments ago, from "my source", the deal is as good as done.

Premium Member Diesel Posted August 1, 2005 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 Wouldn't you trade Diaw and 2 protected firsts for Christie/Cato?
swolehawk2
If you don't mind taking back salary....which is what Phoenix is trying to avoid.
Premium Member Diesel Posted August 1, 2005 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 The sign and trades that were most talked about before we put up were: Boston for Pierce/Filler. N.O. for Magloire/Filler. When I saw Diaw and two protected picks... I said Dayuumm.. i just hope we follow through.. About your source.. Here's my Barry Bonds... What Source? What Source?? What's his name? You're a liar! You have no source!! You're a liar! What's his name? Give me a Name!! Surprising... Barry Bonds was very effective in his combative to the press mode! Premium Member Diesel Posted August 1, 2005 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 Plus Cato gives a big man.
Traceman
Cato is a 7/7/1 guy and Christie is getting older and wants to play on the West Coast. Cato couldn't even help an Orlando team with Francis, Hill, Mobley and Howard starting beside him, how could he help us?
swolehawk2
So if both walked....then Phoenix would get nothing for JJ right?
Moderators AHF Posted August 1, 2005 Moderators Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 Quote: Wouldn't you trade Diaw and 2 protected firsts for Christie/Cato? No way. I'd gamble on landing a Tayshaun Prince, Jamal Magloire, etc. rather than going for Christie (who is done) and Cato (who is a competent, non-impact big man). I wouldn't trade Diaw for Christie. That leaves 2 protected firsts for Cato and I sure wouldn't do that.
Admin chillzatl Posted August 1, 2005 Admin Report Share Posted August 1, 2005 my girlfriend Don't want to say too much. But her company works very closely with players and agents regarding their money. They usually know what's going on with their clients, which JJ is one of.
