Premium Member Diesel Posted August 5, 2005 Premium Member Report Share Posted August 5, 2005 After years of having FAs, laugh at us and pass us over... We finally have one guy who is an allstar in the making... says " I want to play in Atlanta". What do we do? One owner who loves the Celtics says.. NO... Down with BELKIN! Down with BELKIN! Premium Member Diesel Posted August 5, 2005 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted August 5, 2005 It would be different if JJ was Indifferent about coming to Atlanta... BUT JJ said "I want to play in Atlanta!" Damn. The last guy who said that who was a good player was Nique!
swolehawk2
I think this cat is hiding behind the picks thing...he really doens't want BK to spend money.....if he could choose his own GM...then maybe .....Belkin doesn't want BK deciding where to spend his money. KB21
Belkin is a Boston guy. When he was bidding for the Charlotte Bobcats franchise, the guy he was going to bring with him as the GM was ML Carr. If he had the opportunity, he'd probably bring ML Carr to Atlanta. ML Carr would be a tremendous downgrade in GMing ability. The two other guys in that group were Larry Bird and Jan Volk, two more Boston Celtics. tmac13
M.L. Carr was a horrible GM..I was wondering if the fact that JJ was once Boston's property has anything to do with Belkins actions..Sour grapes?
KB21
M.L. is the polar opposite of Billy Knight in every way. M.L. is a real PR guy. He will always talk to the media and give out hints about what he wants to do. He also is one of those GM's that lack a vision, and he is a poor talent evaluator. BK is a close to the vest guy when it comes to the media. BK has a vision and is actually bucking the traditional NBA style in that vision. BK is also a great evaluator of talent.
